Historical Buildings in Cyprus to Turn Blue

On April 02, Autism Speaks, an autism advocacy organisation based in the US, will celebrate the start of its signature campaign, Light It Up Blue, with buildings and historical monuments across the world to be illuminated in order to raise awareness.

Among the buildings that will be lit blue in Cyprus are Nicosia Town Hall, Limassol Archaeological Museum, Larnaca District Archaeological Museum, Archaeological Museum of Marion-Arsinoe, and archaeological sites at Khoirokoitia and Amathus.

The initiative is part of Department of Antiquities’ aim of creating a solid framework for social development base on archaeological and cultural values, while stressing that the protection and promotion of archaeological heritage is not independent of social context but comprises actions targeted for all citizens.
