Noting the posting of illegal signs caused problems including creating a mess, making the area less attractive and, most importantly disrupting road safety. The council said post owners had been given until February 01 to remove their posts or they would be made to pay for their removal from the council.

Sign posts removed by the council will be stored in a designated area until the owners paid the relevant expenses. The council also noted it would not be responsible for any damage caused to the posts or boards during their removal.
