Depicting The Aphrodite of Cavo Greco, Armenaki entered Paralimni Square on a float.

The Cavo Greco theme was chosen to remind people of the area’s natural beauties. Ruins of an ancient temple can also be seen at the site, where a two kilometre nature trail is said to trace the goddess of beauty’s steps.

Florina Omirou, Famagusta Carnival Queen 2017, crowned Armenaki, who is also Miss Cyprus 2017.

The February 08 event marked the official start of Ayia Napa and Paralimni’s joint 10 day-long carnival celebrations.

Highlights include a night parade through the streets of Paralimni on February 17 and the main afternoon parade on February 18.
