Yiannis Karousos, mayor, Ayia Napa, and Viktor Khrestin, mayor, Gelendzhik, met in Russia on June 04 and agreed to cooperate further on cultural, tourism, business and youth issues.
The two mayors also agreed on cultural and other exchange visits between the two locations and discussed how each town could best promote the other.
In comments after the meeting, Karousos noted Gelendzhik was one of Russia’s most popular tourist resort towns, welcoming over four million holidaymakers a year.
“As another tourist town, we will make use of the fact and showcase our own town as much as possible at this popular Russian resort,” Karousos said.
