According to the land developer, Paphos, from January to May this year, encompassed 40.2 percent of the sale of properties with Limassol following at 29.6 percent.
Larnaca is third at 14.2 percent and the Famagusta district fourth at 10.7 percent. Nicosia encompasses just 5.3 percent.
During the first five months of this year, a total of 1,802 property sales contracts were deposited in Cyprus by overseas buyers, with 539 deposited by EU nationals and 1,263 by non-EU nationals.
Leptos Group noted the area of Paphos was becoming more attractive to European and non-European buyers and entrepreneurs for its safety, climate and cosmopolitan culture.
