This August had the highest volume of tourist arrivals ever recorded in Cyprus during respective specific month.
For the period of January to August arrivals of tourists totalled 2,719,622 compared to 2,517,887 in the corresponding period of 2017, recording an increase of eight percent and outnumbering the total arrivals ever recorded in Cyprus during the first eight months of the year.
The UK constituted the main source of tourism for Cyprus this August, with a proportion of 34,4 percent, while arrivals from Russia comprised 21,2 percent of total arrivals, from Israel 7,8 percent and from Sweden 3,9 percent.
For a percentage of 88,3 percent of tourists, the purpose of their trip in August was for their holidays, for 9,7 percent were visiting friends and relatives and for 1,9 percent was for business.
