According to these measures, there was a ban of entry to the Republic on several categories of persons, including tourists. As compared to the revenue from tourism for April 2019 (EUR186,6 million), there was a decrease of 83 percent.
For the period of January – April of this year, revenue from tourism is estimated at EUR46,3 million compared to EUR115,3 million in the corresponding period of 2020, recording a decrease of 59,8 percent as well as a decrease of 87,7 percent compared to January-April 2019 (EUR375,2 million).

On the basis of the results of the Cyprus Passenger Survey carried out by the Statistical Service, revenue from tourism in April of this year reached EUR31,7 million. This, compared to zero revenue from tourism recorded in April 2020, a period during which measures were implemented to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) in Cyprus.
