Cyprus Revenue from Tourism in August Shows Increase

On the basis of the results of the Cyprus Passenger Survey carried out by the Statistical Service, revenue from tourism in Cyprus reached EUR272,5 million in August of this year, compared to EUR71,1 million in August 2020, recording an increase of 283,3 percent.

As compared to the revenue from tourism for August 2019 (EUR431,6 million), there was a decrease of 36,9 percent.

For the period of January – August of this year, revenue from tourism is estimated at EUR777,0 million compared to EUR235,6 million in the corresponding period of 2020, recording an increase of 229,8 percent and a decrease of 58,2 percent compared to January-August 2019 (EUR1.856,8 million).
