For the period of January – November 2022, arrivals of tourists totalled 3.091.039 compared to 1.840.003 in the corresponding period of 2021, 621.927 in the period of January – November 2020 and 3.866.447 arrivals in the period of January – November 2019.
Arrivals from the UK were the main source of tourism for November 2022, with a share of 25,5 percent (38.265) of total arrivals, followed by Israel with 11,6 percent (17.380), Greece with 10,1 percent (15.190), Germany with 10,1 percent (15.065) and Poland with 9,2 percent (13.759).
For a percentage of 70,8 percent of tourists, the purpose of their trip in November 2022 was holidays, for 15 percent visit to friends and relatives and for 14 percent business. Respectively, in November 2021, 75,8 percent of tourists visited Cyprus for holidays, 13,3 percent visited friends or relatives and 10,9 percent visited Cyprus for business reasons.
