A total number of 136.717 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in January of this year, compared to 48.382 in the corresponding month in 2022, recording an increase of 182,6 percent. 

The main countries from which the residents of Cyprus returned this January were Greece with 32,9 percent and the UK with 12,9 percent. 

The Cyprus Statistical Service announced the publication of the report entitled ‘Registration of Motor Vehicles’ for January 2023.

A total number of 139.981 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in December 2022, compared to 61.010 in the corresponding month in 2022, recording an increase of 129,4 percent.

In 2021, six million people aged 15-64 years old in the EU worked in the transport sector (3.1 percent of total employment in the EU).

Cyprus arrivals of tourists reached 110.041 in December 2022, compared to 96.928 in December 2021, recording an increase of 13,5 percent.

On the basis of the results of the passenger survey carried out by the Statistical Service, revenue from tourism to Cyprus reached EUR319,8 million in October 2022 compared to EUR310,2 million in October 2021, recording an increase of 3,1 percent.
