A total number of 122.450 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in September of this year, compared to 66.452 in the corresponding month in 2021, recording an increase of 84,3 percent. 

The main countries from which the residents of Cyprus returned in September of this year were Greece with 37,1 percent, the UK with 9,2 percent and Italy with 5,2 percent. 

The Cyprus arrivals of tourists reached 413.382 in September of this year compared to 339.242 in September 2021, recording an increase of 21,9 percent.

On the basis of the results of the passenger survey carried out by the Statistical Service, revenue from tourism in Cyprus reached EUR381,7 million in July of this year compared to EUR245,7 million in July 2021, recording an increase of 55,4 percent. 

A total number of 153.563 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in August of this year, compared to 96.558 in the corresponding month last year, recording an increase of 59 percent.

The arrivals of tourists reached 451.133 in August of this year compared to 321.858 in August 2021, recording an increase of 40.2 percent.

The European Commission recently announced the four shortlisted destinations for the European Destination of Excellence (EDEN) 2023 award. The EDEN initiative rewards the best achievements in sustainable tourism and green transition practices in smaller destinations across Europe.
