The first Larnaca Biennale held in 2018, was the first international event of this type ever held in the country, and was crowned with great success exceeding all expectations in all areas, including the event, attendance and promotion. With more than 18,000 visitors in the main exhibition and 4,000 spectators in the parallel events, the Larnaca Biennale managed from the first moment to become the largest international art event ever organized in our country.
The continuation of the successful course of the Larnaca Biennale 2021, is already considered a given considering that 340 applications from artists from 50 countries were received.
The theme of the second Biennale will be the ‘Endless Limits’ curated by the artist Vassilis Vassiliadis. The international jury, in addition to the curator, consists of the critic and art curator from Milan Jean Blanchaert, chief curator, Florence Biennale, and art historian Dr. Melanie Zefferino, president, EKATE, Katina Costa, and the sculptor Kikis Patsalos.
During the biennale, in addition to the main exhibition that will be hosted at the Municipal Gallery, the Pieridis Museum and the Larnaca Club, there will be visits from schools, colleges and universities, guided tours by tourists - cultural institutions - artistic groups and there will be 16 parallel events such as theater, music, dance, lectures, workshops, etc.
