Bringing together 350 shipping professionals, government officials and other industry stakeholders, the panel, titled Shipping: an industry of Passion, Knowledge and Experience – Part 3, took place at Limassol Port New Passenger Terminal on January 17. The Panel’s main purpose was to raise awareness about the shipping sector among Cypriots, while also fostering debate between experts on industry opportunities and commercial infrastructure investment to bring long-term growth to the island.

The panelists and speakers included, among others, Marios Demetriades, minister, transport, communications and works, Cyprus, who during his speech stressed the important role of the shipping sector to the country’s economic growth, also highlighting that the island has the third largest international ship register in the European Union.
