Representatives from 10 large cruise companies based in Europe and the US took part in the April 25 – 27 familiarisation trip, carried out in cooperation with Cyprus Tourism Organisation, Limassol Municipality, and Haifa Port.
Participants visited sights including; Curium Ancient Amphitheatre in Limassol, Tombs of the Kings in Paphos, Venetian Walls in Nicosia, toured villages, and enjoyed local food at traditional taverns.
Executives also visited the ultra-modern facilities of DP World Limassol’s New Passenger Terminal and held meetings with tourism officials.
Noting the company wants to establish Limassol as a home port and attractive option for Mediterranean cruises, Charles Meaby, general manager, DP World Limassol, commented, “Our aim is to offer our guests authentic hospitality, a journey into the history and culture of Cyprus, offering a feast of local flavours and tastes, while giving our local associates the opportunity to get to know important executives from the sector, and to discuss and exchange views with them.”
