DP World Limassol: New International Accreditation for Health and Safety Management

Following a successful external audit carried out by leading third-party certification firm, TUV Austria Hellas, DP World Limassol was found to be fully compliant with the latest version of ISO standard on Occupational Health and Safety Management System, achieving the most recent international accreditation, the ISO 45001:2018.

This development constitutes a major milestone for the company, as it had been one of its main corporate targets for this year. The specific standard serves as the new international benchmark for Occupational Health and Safety management, replacing the OHSAS 18001.

The new standard enables organisations to provide a safe and healthy work environment to their employees and visitors, by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving their OH&S performance. Furthermore, DP World Limassol also implements an Integrated Management system in compliance with ISO 9001:2018 on Quality Assurance management and ISO 14001:2015 on Environmental management respectively since June 2018.

Nawaf Abdulla, CEO, DP World Limassol commented, “We are delighted to have successfully met the thorough requirements of ISO 45001, as the health and safety of our personnel and all terminal users is of paramount importance to us. This certification demonstrates the significance we place on health and safety across our operations, while it proves our commitment in complying with the highest international standards and creating better working conditions for our employees, by improving their safety and eliminating risks.”
