The memorandum was signed by Marina Argyrou, director, TATHE and Zacharias Siokouros, CEO, CMMI, at a ceremony held at the Marine Aquaculture Research Center at TATHE.
The signed cooperation agreement allows the two organisations to undertake joint actions on multidisciplinary issues of marine research, in the fields of education, practical training, while also promoting the mobility and participation of their research and academic staff in joint research and innovation programmes.
Under the memorandum, the two parties will co-operate on issues related to fisheries and marine research. Through the exchange of ideas, scientific knowledge and research, TATHE and CMMI will develop research programmes in the fields of sustainable fisheries management, sustainable development and promotion of aquaculture in the context of Blue Growth and Common Fisheries Policy. environment and the improvement of coastal areas.
The aim of the cooperation is to achieve sustainability and an integrated scientific approach to achieving policies at national and European level in the above areas. The memorandum also provides for the participation of the scientific and research staff of the two organisations in joint research projects.
