This decision constitutes an important step towards the relaunch of a project of strategic importance for the city and district of Larnaca, as well as for the wider economic and development path of Cyprus.

The authority's objective is to create a modern, functional and sustainable coastal and maritime hub, which will substantially upgrade Larnaca and contribute to the economic development of the wider region.

The project includes the upgrade of the commercial and passenger port, the development of the marina, as well as the utilisation of the land area with an emphasis on sustainability, innovation and service to citizens and visitors, in order to create a unified and modern development core of high standards for the city of Larnaca.

The authority, based on its know-how and long experience, is proceeding with the preparation of a roadmap and techno-economic planning process for the promotion of the project in phases, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works and all the stakeholders of Larnaca, implementing a development that will constitute a point of reference, reaffirming its commitment to full transparency and efficiency.
