The purpose of this route is to showcase the architecture of Nicosia, allowing visitors to learn about the history of the city. For this reason, Nicosia Tourism Board had made an open call to the public and friends of Nicosia to suggest which buildings/locations (old or modern) they could include in this walking route. 

It was suggested that post were to have the following information by writing the hashtag #TheBrightestCapitalofEurope and tagging the two Facebook pages @visitnicosia and @nicosiamatters:
- Name of the building (if any)
- Location (street and postal code)
- Photo of the building (optional)
- Reason why to include it in the route
