DP World Limassol has succeeded in securing an automobile transit deal, Limassol port’s first such business in two decades.

DP World welcomed the minister of transport, communications and works of the Republic of Cyprus, Alexis Vafeades and the shipping deputy minister to the president of the Republic of Cyprus, Marina Hadjimanolis, at its Dubai Headquarters on 25 and 26th of March 25-26.

DP World Limassol had one of its best years since taking over as operator in 2017. The company recorded an impressive performance in 2022, with Limassol port’s cruise business and cargo volumes growing significantly compared with 2021.

October was the busiest cruise month of the year for DP World Limassol, as 29 cruise ships carrying over 46,000 people, berthed at the port and used its passenger terminal.

True to its commitment to contribute to local society by introducing newcomers to the labour market, DP World Limassol launched for another year, a three-month internship programme for students pursuing a degree in shipping or related field.

Life returns to Larnaca Port with the resumption of cruise ship arrivals following a two-year suspension of services due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
