Larnaca region is proud to announce the new name of its snorkelling reef located in the Voroklini Marine Protected Area following a competition held within the framework of the first ‘European Maritime Day of Cyprus’. 

The Larnaca Tourism Board (LTB) hosted and participated in a two-day meeting of the partners of the Erasmus+ programme ‘Tourism for People with Sensory Disabilities’ on July 08 and 09, at its premises in Larnaca town centre.

 A key event and the largest annual meeting for the tourism industry in Cyprus, the 43^rd Cyprus Hotel Summit & Exhibition of CHA was held on June 29 in Nicosia in the presence of Minister of Finance, Constantinos Petrides; Minister of Transport, Communication and Works, Yiannis Karousos and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Savvas Perdios, as well as other high-level executives, leaders of the hospitality industry and local and international stakeholders.

 The theme of the conference was ‘Act Local, Think Global: A Roadmap for Recovery’ – primarily focusing on the tourism industry’s resumption and new prospects following the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, while emphasising the latest local and international developments and trends. Participants were offered a glimpse into City of Dreams Mediterranean’s luxurious facilities at Melco Cyprus’ booth at the Exhibition.

 The pinnacle of Melco’s investment in Cyprus, City of Dreams Mediterranean, will be Cyprus’ first integrated resort and the largest in Europe and is set to open its doors to the public in summer 2022.

National flag carrier Cyprus Airways, now under Maltese ownership, has announced a third scheduled Moscow flight which commence on July 25.

On the basis of the results of the Cyprus Passenger Survey carried out by the Statistical Service, revenue from tourism in April of this year reached EUR31,7 million. This, compared to zero revenue from tourism recorded in April 2020, a period during which measures were implemented to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) in Cyprus.

Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, recently celebrated its inaugural flight to Santorini in Greece as flight GF034 was welcomed into Santorini International Airport with a water cannon salute and, upon arrival, a number of airport officials joined the airline’s flying crew for commemorative photographs.
