According to the board, contacts were made with important travel stakeholders while parallel meetings revealed a positive climate in terms of demand and reservations for Paphos tourism packages for this year, with a seven to 10 percent increase in bookings anticipated.
Nasos Hadjigeorgiou, executive manager, Pafos Regional Board of Tourism, said efforts are underway to further develop the Dutch market year-round while attracting different sectors of the market with good prospects such as sports tourism.
The Dutch market was amongst those demonstrating a satisfying increase for Cyprus during 2017, he said, with around 38,000 arrivals, a 29 percent increase on the previous year.
