Individuals picking up the distinction received Ayia Napa Municipality’s tourism ambassador emblem and an honourary plaque, at a special ceremony held at the municipal hall. Ambassadors from Norway, namely, Leif and Gunvor Hagebakken, have made 20 visits to the island, while, Gerd and Randi Giljo have visited Ayia Napa 30 and 60 times respectively.

At the awarding ceremony, Toufini addressed the honourable members and expressed her sincere thanks for the fact that, for many years, they have remained regular visitors to Ayia Napa. Toufini also noted that the ambassadors’ loyalty promotes and advertises the city abroad as a popular tourism destination.
