STEK Proposals for the Reopening of the Hotel Industry

Following a meeting under the President of the Republic, STEK (Cyprus Tourism Business Association) recently sent a letter to the competent ministers of the government, with its suggestions on the reopening of the hotel industry and at the same time the resumption of tourism in the country.

Following a recent teleconference of the European Union's tourism ministers, STEK is particularly pleased to find that some of their views and proposals have been discussed in the framework of the drafting and implementation of a single European strategy and some of which have already been adopted by EU member states, following the association's presentations themselves.

STEK ‘s proposals are: unified European policy for the tourism industry; aircraft flight activity and checks; safety and health plan for both customers and employees in the sector;
liability insurance and liability insurer employer; flexible staff hours and continuation of the partial suspension work plan; state aid to businesses; and budget aid 2021 for tourism.
