The goal of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism is for Christmas Villages to become an annual institution and for Cyprus to be recognised as an authentic winter holiday destination, through the offer of quality entertainment activities.

 Beneficiaries will be communities and mountain / Akritic municipalities that have to meet a number of criteria and characteristics, thus ensuring the authenticity of the experience provided.

 Indicatively, it is stated that the participating municipalities and communities must, among other things, have open tourist businesses and related infrastructure at a distance of 15 km, meet at least the mandatory criteria for participation in the coloured villages brand, operate at least 10 different Christmas kiosks etc.

 The maximum grant amount for each beneficiary municipality or community is EUR70,000, with a maximum grant rate of 75 percent. Applications will be accepted until May 31 of this year.

 It is noted that the Deputy Ministry of Tourism will continue to be the responsible body for the promotion of this initiative, through targeted promotional activities in Cyprus and abroad (films, website, single logo, hosting journalists, influencers, bloggers, etc.).
