Revenue from Cyprus Tourism for May +40,7 Percent

Based on the results of the Passengers Survey carried out by the Statistical Service, Cyprus revenue from tourism reached EUR311,0 million in May compared to EUR221,0 million in the corresponding month in 2022, recording an increase of 40,7 percent.

For the period of January – May of this year, revenue from tourism is estimated at EUR728,6 million compared to EUR543,0 million in the corresponding period of 2022, recording an increase of 34,2 percent.

The average expenditure per person was EUR740,36 this May compared to EUR701,44 in May 2022, recording an increase of 5,5 percent. Tourists from the UK (the largest tourist market with 36,6 percent of the total tourists this May) spent on average EUR89,83 per day, while tourists from Israel (the second largest market during the specific month with 8,9 percent of the total tourists) spent on average EUR136,11.

Tourists from Poland (the third largest market with 7,3 percent), spent on average EUR79,46 per day.
