Cyprus’ Tourist Arrivals and Returns of Residents for January Announced

Cyprus’ arrivals of tourists reached 121.625 in January of this year compared to 112.100 in January 2025, recording an increase of 8,5 percent.

Arrivals from Poland were the main source of tourism for this January, with a share of 18,6 percent (22.575) of total arrivals, followed by Israel with 18,1 percent (21.981), the UK with 15,8 percent (19.180), Greece with 9,6 percent (11.650) and Germany with 6,2 percent (7.504).   

For this January, 60,7 percent of tourists travelled for holidays, 22,8 percent visited friends and relatives, and 16,2 percent travelled for business purposes. Respectively, in January 2025, 56,4 percent of tourists visited Cyprus for holidays, 24,5 percent visited friends or relatives, and 19 percent visited Cyprus for business reasons.   

A total of 170.045 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad this January compared to 147.858 in the corresponding month in 2025, recording an increase of 15 percent. The main countries from which residents of Cyprus returned in January were Greece with a share of 27,6 percent (46.970), the UK with 8,5 percent (14.398), and Poland with 5,8 percent (9.865).

The purpose of travel for the residents of Cyprus in January was mainly holidays, with a percentage of 82,2 percent, whilst business reasons held a percentage of 16,3 percent, studies 0,7 percent, and other reasons at 0,7 percent.
