Specifically, visitors enter the Aliki Lakes in order to approach the flamingo and in some cases they take pictures using drone.
According to the BirdLife Cyprus, this causes serious problems for migratory birds and especially for flamingos that are considered particularly vulnerable to inconvenience and jeopardises their survival by preventing them from resting and feeding during their stay on our island.
The Larnaca Tourist Development and Promotion Company and BirdLife Cyprus appeal to all visitors to the wetlands to respect the ecosystem, behave responsibly and enjoy the flamingos from a safe distance.
