Kadis discussed specific elements of the government’s strategy for the sustainable development of Akamas National Forest Park and how this would benefit the environment, the area at large, and its residents.
The minister said the plan was in its final planning stages and that the last round of consultations was underway with the aim of getting the strategy submitted to the Cabinet for approval in September.
Kadis also noted the importance of gaining the support of the local communities, acknowledging this would make efforts to conserve the natural environment and manage areas of great natural value more effective.
