The Statistical Service announces the publication of an infographic on foreign trade of Cyprus for year 2021.

Organised by FITUR and the Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero (ITH), FITURTECHY which was located in hall 10 of IFEMA MADRID, the section specialising in technology, sustainability and innovation for the tourism industry, which took place on January 18-20.

According to the results of the Social Protection Survey, which is based on the principles and rules determined by the European System of Integrated Social PROtection Statistics (ESSPROS) the social protection expenditure in Cyprus, as a percentage of the GDP, reached 24,1 percent in 2020, compared to 18 percent in 2019, which corresponds to EUR5.283,4 million in 2020, compared to EUR4.168,0 million in 2019.

A total number of 102.417 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in November 2022, compared to 52.668 in the corresponding month in 2021, recording an increase of 94,5 percent.

The main countries from which the residents of Cyprus returned in November 2022 were Greece with 38,2 percent and the UK with 13,9 percent. 

The arrivals of Cyprus tourists reached 149.857 in November 2022 compared to 148.973 in November 2021, recording an increase of 0,6 percent.
