The recent opening ceremony of Ayia Napa Marina took place on June 21 and was held by the president of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, who expressed his admiration for the project, while his presence highlighted the importance of the project for the local community, the economy, and beyond. The inauguration took place under the auspices of the Ayia Napa Marina CEO, Stavros Caramondanis, and Ayia Napa Marina chairman, Naguib Sawiris, in the presence of distinguished guests.

 The twisting tower was first introduced by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava in 2005 upon completion of his Twisting Torso in Malmo, Sweden.
