The authority thanked and congratulated all parties involved that collectively worked to make this major project possible, including the government, ministries, the mayor of Larnaca as well as Cyprus Department of Antiquities.

Considered one of the most important ports of the ancient world that survives to this day, Larnaca’s ancient port played a significant role in the city’s economic life. With the completion of the excavations, Larnaca will acquire a unique ancient monument of international significance.
