The UK, Russia, Germany, Greece and Israel reported double-digit growth, with the latter sending 23.1 percent more visitors than in the same month in 2015.
For the period between November 2015 and this January, there was a year-on-year surge of 30.5 percent registered with arrivals to the island exceeding 235,000.
The Year 2015 Proves Profitable
Cyprus Tourism Organisation confirmed that tourism income in December 2015 increased 20.4 percent year-on-year to EUR52.6 million, driving the annual figure to over EUR2.11 billion – a 4.4 percent surge over 2014.
The national authority deems this a very satisfactory development, especially following unfortunate events related to the all-important Russian market.
