Tourism Income Grows

Revenue from tourism reached EUR29.1 million in January, as compared to EUR28.4 million in the corresponding month of 2015, showing a 2.5 percent increase in data released by the country’s national statistical service.

The positive development was driven by a 16.3 percent year-on-year surge in arrivals to 48,607 visitors.

Average length of stay stood at 9.9 days, per person expenditure touched EUR598.39, and the respective per day figure totalled EUR60.26.

Tourists from the US were the most generous with an average amount of EUR895.13 per person.
