As part of Larnaka Tourism Board's (LTB) ongoing efforts to welcome and embrace all visitors there are currently several initiatives underway to increase touristic accessibility. 

The Larnaka Municipal Gallery – Christoforou Collection has opened this summer and will exhibit around 150 artworks by Greek painters and engravers of the 19th - 20th centuries; exhibited with the kind permission of retired Cypriot diplomat Charalambos Christoforou and his spouse Maria Christoforou. 

The traditional streets of Piale Pasha area in Larnaca have seen their local character given a new makeover via a slew of projects in recent years that have respectfully upgraded the area in-line with its traditional character, including two projects completed at the start of this year. 

Larnaka Tourism Board (LTB) held its annual trade tour for employees in the tourism and hotel industry today with the aim of familiarising them with new or lesser-known places of interest and tourist activities within Larnaca region.

Another Larnaca region archaeological site has been virtually reconstructed in 3D, adding to the series of virtual reconstructions under a joint initiative between Larnaka Tourism Board (LTB) and the Youth Makerspace Larnaka branch of Youth Board of Cyprus (ONEK). The reconstructions bring the region’s rich heritage to life in a modern and accessible way via a combination of technological innovation and historical research.

Cyprus’ largest and most comprehensive calisthenics park was recently installed on Larnaca city’s Kastella Beach in a joint project between Larnaka Municipality and Larnaka Tourism Board (LTB).

The sustainable initiatives being developed at the Larnaca Marine Protected Area (MPA) recently continued with an event for the dual actions of submerging amphorae at the Elpida wreck and a presentation of culinary dishes incorporating lionfish.

Larnaca Tourism Board (LTB) is participating in several projects of the Erasmus+ programme of the EU as part of its efforts to facilitate and improve the tourism industry and tourism experience.

The new 3.5 MWp Solar Park at Larnaka International Airport was inaugurated on July 19, during a special ceremony held in the presence of the minister of transport, Alexis Vafeadis and the chairman of Hermes Airports’ board of directors, Christophe Petit.
