For the period of this January – March, arrivals of tourists totalled 407.339 compared to 446.596 in the corresponding period of 2025, recording a decrease of 8,8 percent.
Arrivals from the UK were the main source of tourism for this March, with a share of 32,9 percent (45.763) of total arrivals, followed by Poland with 12,6 percent (17.604), Germany with 10,8 percent (14.999) and Greece with 6,5 percent (9.009).
This March, 65,7 percent of tourists travelled for holidays, 19,8 percent visited friends and relatives, and 14,3 percent travelled for business purposes. Respectively, in March 2025, 69,4 percent of tourists visited Cyprus for holidays, 15,7 percent visited friends or relatives, and 14,7 percent visited Cyprus for business purposes.
Returns of Residents of Cyprus
A total of 133.034 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in March of this year compared to 145.940 in the corresponding month in 2025, recording a decrease of 8,8 percent. The main countries from which residents of Cyprus returned this March were Greece with a share of 32,4 percent (43.068), the UK with 9,9 percent (13.131), Italy with 4,7 percent (6.304) and Germany with 4,5 percent (5.961).
The purpose of travel for the residents of Cyprus this March was mainly holidays, with a percentage of 72,5 percent, whilst business reasons held a percentage of 22,6 percent, studies 3,9 percent and other reasons 1 percent.
