A total number of 122.450 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in September of this year, compared to 66.452 in the corresponding month in 2021, recording an increase of 84,3 percent. 

The main countries from which the residents of Cyprus returned in September of this year were Greece with 37,1 percent, the UK with 9,2 percent and Italy with 5,2 percent.

Cyprus Airways recently announced its traffic results for September of this year. During this month, the airline operated a total of 267 flights (September 2021 – 148 flights) and carried a total of 34,868 passengers (September 2021 – 9,570 passengers), registering a healthy Seat Load Factor (SLF) of 79 percent (September 2021 – 50 percent). A further 108 flights were operated on an ACMI lease on behalf of an operator.

The Department of Antiquities, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced the completion of the 2022 fieldwork season of the Italian Erimi Archaeological Project at Laonin tou Porakou, where an international team leaded by the University of Siena and directed by Professor Luca Bombardieri, investigated an extended area of the Bronze Age settlement located on the highest plateau on the eastern Kouris riverbank.
