Larnaca Tourism Board Meeting with Deputies of the Province

A meeting of the board of directors of Larnaka Tourism Board was held of June 16 with newly elected MPs of the Province with the aim of discussing issues related to the tourism sector of the Larnaca Region.

The board of Larnaca presented a memorandum with the main pending infrastructure projects of the region that must proceed immediately and which affect the tourism sector, including the construction of the Larnaca-Dhekelia road (phases c 'and d') and the creation of the coastal Pedestrian Gate.

In addition, issues were raised that affect the image of Larnaca as a tourist destination such as the chronic problem of abandoned buildings in tourist areas, in the former Turkish Cypriot neighborhood (artists' neighborhood), and T / C pieces in the city center as well as the serious problem of visual pollution, which tarnishes the image not only of Larnaca but also of the whole of Cyprus.

During the meeting, suggestions were also made on issues that need legislation, such as illegal fishing in marine protected areas that hinders the development of diving tourism.
